Epoxy & polyaspartic garage floors in North Royalton

This is our hometown. Level Coating is based right here off Royalton Road, which means we drive past most of these garages every week. North Royalton is really two cities in one: the older split-levels and farm-road houses that were here before the boom, and the subdivisions that went up when the population jumped almost 24% through the 1990s — Pinestream and its neighbors broke ground in 1997, and another tenth of the city's homes were built between 2000 and 2009. Those two halves need completely different prep, and knowing which one you have starts the quote.

Newer subdivision or older farm road — two different jobs

Most people assume a newer garage is the easy one. It usually isn't. Here's what we actually run into on each side of town:

  • The 1990s and 2000s builds. Builders finish these slabs with a power trowel, which burnishes the surface glass-smooth and closes the pores. It looks perfect and it's the worst possible surface for a coating to grip — this is where DIY kits peel within a year. There's nothing wrong with the concrete; it just has to be ground open first.
  • Slabs still under ten years old. Newer concrete can hold construction moisture and push vapor up through a coating. On a recent build we check for it before quoting rather than finding out after.
  • The older State Road and Akins Road houses. Opposite problem entirely: open, weathered concrete, settled cracks, and decades of oil. More prep hours, but the bond is excellent once it's clean.
  • Three-car garages. North Royalton has a lot of them compared to the inner suburbs. Budget for the square footage — a 600 sq ft garage is genuinely a bigger job than a 400 sq ft one.

One-day garage floor coatings for North Royalton homes

Every floor we install in North Royalton is built the same proven way — and finished in a single visit:

  • Diamond-grind & repair — we profile the concrete, fill cracks with structural polyurea, and degrease oil spots so the coating bonds permanently.
  • Pigmented base + full flake — a tinted base coat, then a full broadcast of vinyl chips in your chosen blend for a deep, even, showroom texture.
  • Polyaspartic clear top — a UV-stable, hot-tire-proof top coat. Walk on it the next day, drive on it 24 hours after the top coat.

The finished floor is roughly 50 mil thick — slip-resistant, chemical-resistant, and easy to keep clean with a mop. It's backed by our 3-year workmanship warranty and built to last 15–20+ years.

North Royalton garage floor questions

My house is a newer build. Doesn't that mean less prep?

It usually means different prep, not less. Builder slabs in the newer subdivisions are power-troweled to a hard, closed surface — great for sweeping, terrible for adhesion. We still diamond-grind, because a coating laid on a burnished slab is the classic one-year peel. What you may save is crack repair time, since the concrete hasn't been through forty winters yet.

Can you do it in winter?

In a heated space, yes — that's most of our winter work, and it's usually commercial. An unheated garage during an Ohio freeze is another matter: the slab has to be at least 35°F for the coating to cure, and it rarely is. We book those for spring, and winter is the right time to get on the schedule.

You're local — does that actually change anything?

It changes what happens after the install. We're ten minutes from most of these streets, so a callback isn't a dispatch decision made in another state. If something needs a look in year two, we come look at it.
